About Mathsonaut

Mathsonaut is a browser-based maths app for children aged 4–11, with visual lessons, practice questions and space adventures. One parent account can hold up to five separate explorer profiles.

Who writes these guides?

The Mathsonaut Team byline identifies content published by the team behind this app. We also sell a family subscription, so our guides are written by a product provider. Articles about choosing an app explain our perspective; they are not independent product rankings or evidence of measured learning gains.

How to use the parent guides

Our Year 1–6 guides use selected topics from the mathematics programme of study for England. Their worked examples and home activities illustrate those topics. They do not map every curriculum objective to an app level. Schools may teach topics in different orders, and other UK nations have different curricula.

Use a guide as a starting point for a conversation with your child. It cannot assess attainment, diagnose a learning difficulty or replace advice from your child’s teacher.

Sources and changes

New year guides link to the curriculum source used for their topic summaries. Time-sensitive information, such as SATs dates, links to the relevant government guidance. We show an updated date when an article changes substantively; the original publication date stays visible.

Spotted something to improve?

Email support@mathsonaut.com with the page link, the calculation or wording, and your suggested correction. Please leave children’s names, school details and account information out of content feedback.

Try before choosing a subscription

The first four topics in Level 1 are free to try without an account or payment card. The full app has 13 levels. See current family pricing, our privacy information and terms before creating a parent account.
